Prophecy

Throughout my adult life I've been slow to hang pictures on the walls of my residence. Pictures and paintings in frames lean against walls for years. It's not that I'm indecisive about where to hang what -- altho those decisions too take time -- but it never fails that the day I install a frame on a wall, within a short period later -- days, weeks, but no longer than a month -- I receive orders that it's time to move.

Not a resolution, but let's see how much this motivates me.

Ooh look. Pretty badge. Yeah, whatev.

Frustrating. When a Soldier is recommended for an award, the Soldier receives comments from her chain of command of "influences and motivates subordinates to accomplish any task," "an asset to any team", "excellent performance", and "brilliant NCO!" and then the award is downgrated from an MSM to an ARCOM.

Happens time and again, Soldiers perform above and beyond their paygrade, exemplary in all areas, and then when you can present them with an award appropriate for their performance they receive a lesser award -- a more common award given to average performers.

Resolutions

When the fleet consists of 50 vehicles all identical -- same make, same model, same color -- some modification is required.

365 Days

Days come and go and then months and years. Time slips quickly. I'm not fond of resolutions. And I believe in blogging without obligation. But I'm going to attempt a 365 day project. Simple guidelines (snagged from another blogger):

• Try to take at least one photo each day.
• Share the photos.
• I am not required to share the photos everyday but will try to do so.
• If possible or necessary, include some comments and thoughts related to the photo being shared.
